By Victoria Ojeme

National Youth Council of Nigeria has appealed to Nigerian youth, traditional rulers, religious leaders and political stakeholders in Anambra to support the INEC in ensuring Credible and Non- violence election.

Comrade Amb Obinna Nwaka made this known in Abuja at the end of it deliberation ahead of upcoming governorship election.

According to the Statement, “The National Youth Council of Nigeria under the leadership of Comrade Murtala Muhammed Garba inaugurated the Directorate of political and democratic matters to react and oversee the political affairs and situation on behalf of the entire young people of the great indivisible country. So, we use this medium to state as follows;

“We appeal to our fellow youths especially in Anambra State to be law abiding and to come out en masse to participate actively in the forth coming governorship election.

“We call on the youths to drop every negative agenda towards the forthcoming election and to see election as their constitutional rights, a
road map to development and as a civic responsibility from 18 years above.

“We call on the attention of some leaders who are bent on not just deceiving the youths but also going far by instigating them with stipend to commit unnecessary offence just for their own selfish gain where as their families and kids are in abroad living or at worse relaxing in their luxurious home.

” We humbly appeal to electorates in support the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in ensuring they carry out their official responsibility and mandate without fear or violence.

“Since some of our leaders only seasonally interact or give audience to the youths when ever election is near, the youths should also note that election period is payback period and also an avenue to register our anger through ballot demonstration.
