The suspended Chairman of Kano State chapter of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Rabiu Dansharu, has described his purported suspension by a factional group as null and void.

Dansharu told reporters in Kano that the PDP Constitution was explicit on the process and protocol of suspension, expulsion, disciplinary or otherwise of key figures of the party, including state chairman.

The embattled chairman said Chapter 10, Sub-Section 7 of Page 91 of PDP constitution was clear on who was responsible for suspending party chairman, stressing that such action was exclusively vested in the national executive of the party.

Dansharu said he had constituted an investigative panel to investigate the issue.

He added: “The allegations that my son is a political aide to Ganduje and that I am doing anti-party activities show ignorance of those behind this rumours. The person they are referring to is an adult, who has right to choose his political party.

“As for my wife, she is a Ph. D. holder and a lecturer. She has been working at the state SUBEB, so when this government decided to give her appointment, why should I say no?”
