SSANU raps FG’s stance on workers’welfare

By Johnbosco Agbakwuru

ABUJA—Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities, SSANU, has accused President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration of not departing from the culture of giving priority to capital projects at the expense of developing its manpower.

SSANU in a communiqué after its 32nd National Executive Council, NEC, meeting at University of Port Harcourt, advised the government to always establish worker-friendly environment, instead of issuing ‘no work, no pay’ threat to workers when government itself had always failed to honour agreements it freely entered into.

SSANU President, Samson Ugwoke in a communique said: “NEC in session observes painfully, that the Buhari administration has not departed from the culture of giving priority to capital projects at the expense of developing its manpower.’’
