Oshodi community hosts Senator Adeola, prominent residents at fund raiser

Senator Olamilekan Solomon Adeola, aka Yayi, will be ahead of six prominent residents of Oshodi in Oshodi/Isolo Local Council Development Area of Lagos State to be honoured at the Community Hall Fund Raising slated for Thursday, November 16. The event holds at the Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji Legislative Council Hall in the Council Secretariat.

The senator representing Lagos West will chair the occasion at which the community intends to raise N50 million through the Community Development Committee (CDC), the umbrella body of all Community Development Associations (CDAs) in the Council Area, to complete a betting hall for the people of Oshodi, Mafoluku and Shogunle.

The CDC, in a statement by its Publicity Secretary, Rev. Otegbade, said the community needed a befitting hall in the face of the fast-pacing nature of Lagos into a mega city.

The people, Otegbade said, are not able to hold their programmes in the streets and public places anymore just as the cost of hiring event centres had become prohibitive, appealing to residents, banks operating there, other business houses in the community, their representatives at all levels of government and all persons of good will to rally round them at the event at which two prominent residents, Alhaji Abdul Razak Sanni, aka Provida, and Alhaji Soliu Ibrahim, aka Too Much Money, are Chief Launchers.

The Council Chairman, Hon. Idris Bolaji Muse-Ariyo, is Chief Host while the state Commissioner for Local Government and Community Affairs is Special Guest of Honour.

Other residents to be honoured at the occasion are Chief Samuel O. Aina, a former Chairman of the Local Government; Alhaji Wahab Sodiq, another former Chairman; Chief Israel Olufemi Orija, and a former two-term representative of Oshodi/Isolo Federal Constituency 1, Hon. Moruf Akinderu-Fatai (MAF).
