THE Ohanaeze Ndigbo has re-iterated that unless Nigeria is restructured, it will not make any headway as a buoyant nation.
President of Ohanaeze, Chief Nnia Nwodo spoke in Awka at a public lecture at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka organised by the University as part of its Annual Public lecture.
In another development, Nwodo lauded the legacies left by Chief Bob Ogbuagu, a one-time president of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations and one time president of District 9140 of the Rotary club International.
Nwodo implored the family of Ogbuagu to take his demise with fortitude. Chief Ogbuagu died recently and was buried weekend at Umuahia, Abia State. Nwodo was accompanied to the burial by Chuks Ibegbu, a son of Ohuhuland and the National Deputy Publicity Secretary of Ohanaeze Ndigbo world wide and some state and local government officials of Ohanaeze Ndigbo in Abia state.
Among those at the event were the Minister of Trade and Investment, Chief Okechukwu Enelamah; Minister of Science and Technology, Dr Ogbonnaya Onu; Gen Ike Nwachukwu; Governor of Abia state, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu and Senator T A Orji.
Others were the former NDDC chairman and an Ohuhu son , Chief Onyema Ugochukwu, the former Nigerian Ambassador to Brazil “Chief Empire Kanu and the son of the former Premier of the old Eastern region Chief Uzodimma Okpara, among others.
, Chief kalu U Kalu , the former Chairman of Union Bank, the Prelate of the Methodist Church Bishop Uche, top government officials and senior citizens from Igbo land and Nigeria.
