CSN promotes teaching of Chemistry in Nigeria, says Isichei

The chairman, Chemical Society of Nigeria CSN, Delta State chapter, Dr. Mrs. Tina Olubuhola Isichei, has said the annual Chemistry competition nationwide is aimed to promote and encourage teaching and learning of Chemistry among secondary school students.

Isichei, in a welcome address at the 2017 Awokoya Memorial Chemistry completion Award ceremony, held yesterday, at PTI, Effurun, Delta State, appealed to Chevron Nigeria Limited, its sole sponsor of the annual Chemistry completion for increased funding to accommodate more students into the exercise.

” The CSN, Delta State chapter appreciates Chevron for the sponsorship, this has made it possible that the society, Delta chapter is the only chapter in Nigeria holding such a celebration of excellence in Chemistry. We also appreciate the Delta State Ministry of Education for their role in making the competition a success”.

Also, the managing director of Chevron Nigeria limited, Mr. Jeffrey Ewing, said over the years NNPC/Chevron joint venture has shown commitment to qualitative education through investments in infrastructure, sponsorship of manpower development programmes and provision of scholarships.

Ewing, who was represented by Mr. Tony Emegere, Supreintendent, PGPA, noted that ” the chemistry competition is achieving intended objectives to grow bigger, better and stronger.
