41 member countries are expected to participate in the Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) summit which will be held in Saudi Arabia to brainstorm on counter-terrorism measures to ensure member countries are free from terrorism.
The Inaugural Meeting of the IMCTC Ministers of Defense Council has the theme “Allied Against Terrorism,” with the participation of Ministers of Defense of Coalition member countries and delegates from diplomatic missions and international organizations in Saudi Arabia.
The meeting marks the official launch of the IMCTC and is expected to strengthen the cooperation and integration of member countries in the Coalition. IMCTC.
Being a pan-Islamic coalition of 41 countries, it is expected to coordinate and multiply individual efforts to fight terrorism and extremism to enable it work more effectively with other international security and peacekeeping efforts.
It has established the Counter Terrorism Center as its operational arm.
The Inaugural Meeting which is scheduled to take place in Riyadh, on November 26, 2017 / at 8 Rabea al Awal 1439 H is intended to build up member countries’ counter terrorism capacity, exchange global best practices on specific IMCTC initiatives.
It also aims at creating coordinated and impactful efforts across the four IMCTC domains, which are ideology, communications, counter terrorist financing, and military.
