Aubameyang levels Yeboah’s Bundesliga African record

Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has moved alongside former Eintracht Frankfurt forward Tony Yeboah as the joint top-scoring African in Bundesliga history after scoring the opener in BVB’s Revierderby clash with Schalke.

The Gabonese striker – who finished the previous campaign as the Torjägerkanone winner with 31 goals, one more than Bayern Munich hitman and great rival Robert Lewandowski – moved onto 11 for the season with the strike bringing up his 96th all-time in the German top flight.

It’s a welcome return to form for the 2015 African Player of the Year, who hadn’t scored since the 3-2 loss to RB Leipzig on Matchday 8.
