Youth empowerment: Minister solicits support for AASDU technical skills centre

Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Okechukwu Enelamah, has solicited support of Nigerians towards the recently launched technical skills centre and industrial village by Association of Anambra State Development Union, AASDU, for the empowerment of youths in Anambra state.

Speaking during his keynote address on the association’s annual lecture and awards day, the minister who was chairman of the event stated the technical skills centre and industrial village  is aimed at empowering youths in Anambra State against unemployment  and therefore, solicited the support of investors and noble Nigerians for its success.

The minister, who was represented by his Special Adviser, Mr. Chukwuemeka Ifezulike, noted: “This technical skills centre and industrial village will create various opportunities in  empowering the  unemployed youths of the state. It will give them the opportunity to create local goods that will compete with foreign ones.

“It will also equip our youths with knowledge and skills needed in entrepreneurship. On behalf of AASDU, we hereby solicit the support of indigenes of Anambra State in Lagos and other noble Nigerian investors for the success of the project.“

Similarly, the President of AASDU, Chief Vincent Osakwe during  his welcome address stated that  the event was to reward some deserving citizens of Anambra State and some friends of the state for their immense contribution to the society as well as to generate fund for the centre they proposed to build in the state.”
