UGHELLI—A HOUSE of Representatives aspirant in Ughelli North, Ughelli South, and Udu Federal Constituency, Rev Francis Waive has pledged to end what he described as absentee representation if elected.
He also noted that he was going to represent the constituency in accordance with the vision of All Progressives Congress, APC.
Waive said this when he paid a consultative visit to Olorogun O’tega Emerhor at his country home in Evwreni.
In addition, he lamented what he described as the absence of representation in the constituency over the years.
Earlier, Emehor said: “When APC came to Delta State a lot of Christians called the party so many unprintable names, but some men of God gave us an audience to tell them what the party stands for and with that, we began to gain traction and acceptance.
“We are also aware that in this part of the country, Christians are over 90 percent of the voting population and with a man who was also engaged in student activism, we believe Rev Wavie is not going into an unknown turf. And his joining us will add huge value to the party.”
