Osun PDP holds crisis-free ward congresses

Osogbo—The ward congresses of Osun State chapter of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, were held peacefully in all the 30 councils of the state yesterday.


The exercise, which was held in all the 332 wards of the state, led to the emergence of ward executive members and three delegates from each ward of the state.

Checks conducted at all the wards where the exercise took place revealed that it was characterized by orderliness and proper coordination by the leadership of the party.

Reports from wards visited by Vanguard showed that arrival of voting materials from the National Headquarters of the party in Abuja was prompt while party officials sent to oversee the exercise came early before the scheduled time to ensure success at the end of the congresses.

Also, the caretaker committee led by Senator Sarafadeen Ishola was seen moving from ward to ward to see to the success of the exercise.

Gabriel Suswan, former governor of Benue State and the chairman, Osun Ward Congress Committee, while addressing journalists in Osogbo expressed happiness that the exercise was crisis free one.
