Obigwe denies linking Osinbajo’s convoy to the shooting at Tarzan Junction

By Nwafor Sunday

The National Coordinator APGA Media Warriors Forum, Evang Chinedu Obigwe, Tuesday distanced self from linking the Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo’s convoy that led APC delegations to their official flag off campaign for the November 18th Anambra governorship election, to the shooting incident at Tarzan junction, Onitsha which left two people dead.

Osinbajo, first left with Tony Nwoye and APC chairman, John Odigie-Oyegun

“I hold and respect the office of the Vice President in a high esteem and cannot make spurious allegations against that office”, he said.

In a press release issued newsmen, Obigwe denied linking the vice president’s convoy to the senseless shooting which the police via its statement released on Saturday disregarded the rumor linking APC campaign flag off as the cause and described ‘melee’ perhaps as the root cause.

His release reads in parts:

“My attention has been drawn to a write up  by a political moron that goes by the name Ike Klinsman Ohamadike alleging that I and James Eze are behind the circulation of the rumour that the Vice President’s convoy was involved in a shooting incident at Tarzan junction on 20th October  and that we supervised the shooting incident.

“The concocted falsehood and cheap blackmail can only fly in the foolish imagination of those behind its concoction.

“I hold the office of the Vice President in high esteem and cannot make spurious allegations against that office unlike Tony Nwoye that threw decorum and caution to the wind and committed political sacrilege by calling Governor Obiano a thief without producing evidence to substantiate his claims.

“I owe nobody an apology for all my contributions that are aimed at actualizing Governor Obiano merited second term re election bid. I am poised to ensure that no stone is left unturned in the operation to bring back Willie’s project to the state.

“Childish blackmail will not deter me from supporting Governor Obiano because his unflinching and genuine support is a debt I owe the Governor for his good works in the State.

“Tony Nwoye’s ICT campaign management teams that signed the referred write-up are bunch of ideologically bereft politicians that lacked the marketing strategy and advertorial precepts of marketing their Principal to the electorates hence their reason for resorting to a cheap blackmail and intimidation.

“Their blackmails spur my type of person to always stay on the right track and on the side of justice. As far as the November 18th election is concerned my priority is to contribute my own quota of support towards the actualization of Governor Obiano’s victory.

“And look! I will not relent in what I am doing until APGA’s victory is achieved.”

He advised the people of the State to use their democratic franchise to punish Tony Nwoye for committing the sacrilegious sin of insulting the office of the Executive Governor of Anambra State, so that his electoral punishment will serve as a deterrent to other politicians in the State.

“Once more, I did not link vice president’s convoy to the shooting at Tarzan junction which left two people dead, thank you”, he finally said.
