Kwara State government, yesterday, denied rumours that soldiers were injecting school pupils in Omu-Aran, Irepodun Local Govern-ment Area of the state.
In a release by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Security, Alhaji Amusa Bello, government advised the public to ignore the rumour as neither the Army nor any other security agency was currently undertaking a vaccination exercise or any other health campaign in any part of the state.
The state government also called on parents not to panic and to refrain from withdrawing their children wards from schools based on this ‘unfounded rumour.’
Recall that similar rumour in the South-East states, last week, led to withdrawal of children from schools.
