Some politicians on Wednesday called on President Muhammadu Buhari to reshuffle his cabinet for greater efficiency.
The politicians told newsmen in Lagos that Buhari should reshuffle the cabinet to strengthen the machinery of government.
They said that the reshuffle was necessary this mid-term of the administration.
The National Chairman of National Unity Party, Chief Perry Opara, urged Buhari to assess the performances of the ministers and take an appropriate decision.
“Nigerians are complaining of some areas of governance.
“A cabinet shuffle that will ensure that Nigerians get more dividends of democracy is necessary,’’ Opara told journalist.
A former Lagos State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Capt. Olatunji Shelle, also said that a cabinet reshuffle would enable the administration to achieve more.
“There is need for a review of every aspect of governance,’’ Shelle said.
The National Chairman of Progressive Action Council, Chief Charles Nwodo, said: “The need for reshuffling is to give a new lease of life to the administration in order for it to reshape and ensure that the citizens are happy.
“There is no much improvement in some sectors.
“Some of these sectors that are too slow to encourage progress should be reformed,’’ Nwodo said.
However, a two-time Presidential Candidate of the National Conscience Party, Chief Martin Onovo, said that it was late to appoint new ministers.
According to him, political activities for 2018 general elections will soon start.
