Why Sylva, Alaibe, Lokpobiri can’t get Bayelsa governorship ticket—Kpodo

By Onozure Dania

A chieftain of All Progressives Congress, APC, in Bayelsa State, Chief Perekeme Kpodo, has offered reasons why the former governor, Chief Timipre Sylva; Minister of State for Agriculture and Rural Development, Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, and former Managing Director of Niger Delta Develop-ment Commission, NDDC, Mr. Timi Alaibe, are not qualified to vie for the governorship ticket of the party in 2020.

According to him, the trio have lost their politi-cal value, the trust of the people and members of the APC in the state.

Kpodo, who was the Interim Chairman of the state APC and former Security Adviser to the state government, was reacting to the claim that Chief Sylva and Mr. Alaibe are to struggle for the APC governorship ticket and contest the governorship election in 2020.

Kpodo said the trio have promoted divisions within APC in the state, adding that “all these persons cannot win election in the state. They have offended a lot of Bayelsa people.”

On the need to reposition APC in Bayelsa State, Kpodo noted that the only qualified person that can bring sanity to the party in the state is President Muhammadu Buhari, noting that “if the President does not intervene, the APC cannot win the governorship election in the state.”
