The Director General of Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON), Dr Osita Aboloma, has called on manufacturers across the country to monitor their products to ensure that they are not adulterated before they get to the final consumers.
He said this became necessary because faking and adulteration of products in the country was as a result of improper monitoring and communication gap.
Aboloma spoke in Ilorin, Kwara State capital, at the presentation of Mandatory Conformity Assessment Programme (MANCAP) certificate to Polar Petrol Chemicals Limited.
Represented by Group Head, Chemical Technologies of SON, Agboola Afolayan, Aboloma urged Nigerians to patronise made in Nigeria products “as they can compete with similar products manufactured elsewhere in the world.”
In his remark, the Chairman of the company, Alhaji Tasiu Mustapha, said the standard with which this company started operation shall be sustained to all the stakeholders statisfaction.
