Spokesman of the defectors, Evang. Dan Obi, maintained that the political forces that control Okpoko have decided to converge under the canopy of Governor Willie Obiano’s re-election bid.
Obi who facilitated a meeting between decampees and APGA stalwarts that played host to the senior special assistant to the governor on political matters, Comrade Arinzechukwu Awogu, accompanied by Engr. Walter Udeze; Hon. Hipolitus Obi, Hon. Ifechukwu Aniegboka, the Secretary to Ogbaru local government, among others, where the new entrants were issued with APGA membership cards, vowed to collapse all structures into ensuring that Obiano wins in Okpoko where he said over 93,000 voters are registered.
Welcoming the decampees, the senior special assistant to the governor on political matters, Comrade Arinzechukwu Awogu noted that a visibly performed government should be encouraged to bring its vision for the state to completion, adding that Obiano’s administration has done exceptionally well in the last three and half years so much so that it needed to be supported to complete its developmental initiatives for the state.
