The government of Northern Island has said it was set to introduce some of its businesses into Nigeria.
At a business-to-business meeting between officials of Nigeria and Northern Island at the Deputy British High Commissioner’s residence in Lagos, Invest Northern Island, a trade promotion outfit of Northern Island, said the country will focus on investment opportunities, agriculture, electricity, infrastructural facilities, as well as waste and clinical management.
Director of International Trade and Investment, West Africa, of British High Commission, Kate Rudd, who spoke for the outfit, said it was of great importance to re-ignite the bilateral trade relationship between UK and Africa, especially Nigeria.
She said: “Lagos is one of the cities in Africa with the highest number of high net-worth individuals and so there is a real market here.
“So it is all about introdu-cing these companies to the Nigerian economy and making business-to-business contact.
“This is really important because the UK is entering a new chapter in its history as we exit the European Union, EU.”
