As the billed Nov. 18th Anambra gubernatorial election draws near, Pensioners and Ward Chairmen of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, have drummed their respective supports for governor Willie Obiano, noting that opposition parties should rest on their abode to allow APGA’s continuity and its good work in the state.
“We don’t want anybody to come and mess the good work of Obiano in Anambra state”, they said.
Obiano who expressed optimism for the forthcoming election said “I am not shaking because I have confident that I am going to win considering my achievements cum the support of over 326 ward leaders, which I know they will come amass with their various youths and women coming Nov. 18 to vote for me.
“These are the people that will win the election. I don’t have any problem as you can see; I am backed up by many supporters. It is going to be a landslide victory for me. My supporters have taken this battle as their personal battle.”
However, speaking with one of the APGA members, Olisa Aniunoh told newsmen that Anambra state has been adjudged the safest state in the country under Obiano’s administration, noting that he does not want anybody to come and mess up what Obiano has put together in the state.
On the other hand, Anambra pensioners reacting through Chief Anthony Ugozo, Its State chairman said that “there is nothing on earth that will make Gov. Willie Obiano not to return for the second term.”
In his words, “It is well for Anambra State; It is well for Pensioners; It is well for Akpokuedike Global; The Governor that is performing; The Governor that is doing well.
“The smiling working governor who is happy that he is working; “Enemies of the state are never happy that he is working, thus raises criticisms here and there.”
He pledged to support Obiano in unionism with Anambra pensioners stating that heaven and the general public are aware of his good works in Anambra.
Similarly, owing to the increase in the rice production and the economic viability of Anambra state, the DG Obaze campaign organisation has credited Governor Willie Obiano for inviting Coscharis Farms in the state which helped in the production of sufficient rice and assisted in making the state economically viable.
According to Uzodike, “all the rice Anambarians consume comes from Ebonyi state (Abakiliki) but since Obiano brought in Coscharis farms into the state, Anambra is well known for its maximum production of rice sufficient for the state.”
