KATSINA – As the fate of Igbo’s residing in the North is tie to August 14 to know whether to remain or move out after the October 1st deadline, the Emir of Katsina, Dr. Abdulmumini Kabir Usman has maintained his stand that no harm will come to Igbo’s, Yoruba’s and others in the state.

It would be recalled that the Emir while reacting to the quit notices on the Igbo by some Arewa Youths some months ago, vows to defend the Igbo’s with last drop of his blood.

Speaking while receiving a group known as Awareness for good leadership, peace and development who paid him a courtesy visit in his palace on Thursday in Katsina, Dr. Usman cautioned the politicians to desist from sponsoring youths to make reckless comments and attack their mates.

He appealed to the youth to be their brothers and sisters keepers and shunned the misleading advice of disgruntled politicians.

According to him, “The Reckless and inflammatory comments has been dividing Nigerians along Religious and ethnic lines which is dangerous.

“We are advising the prominent Nigerian to be agents of unity and peace instead of pushing future leaders of the country to attack their mates.

“We at the Katsina Emirate Council will continue to use our influence to protect all citizens of Nigeria residing in our domain.

“We are assuring other Nigerians living side by side with us of our support and protection to them,” the Emir said.

Earlier, the chairman of the group, Alhaji Abdullahi Aliyu, said that they were at the palace to solicit the support of the Emir in their struggle to reduce corruption and championed peaceful co-existence among Nigerians.

Aliyu informed the Emir of their plan to host a seminar that would promote peace and unity among youth in the Nation at Katsina in the next few weeks.

isclosed that their organization had been advocating for unity, peace and good governance in the country.

“Our organization believed that no meaningful development will be recorded without peace.

“We are hereby seeking the support of the Emir to discharge our duty of sensitizing the youth to be self reliant and preach peace.” he said.

However, it would be recalled that it was reported that the Coalition of Northern Groups slate Monday, August 14 to make definite pronouncement on the quit at an International press conference to hold in Abuja.
