Christ Apostolic Chuch Theological Seminary, Lagos, has called for more commitment to service on the part of the country’s political leaders, pointing out that: “Nigeria is what it is today because of leaders that lack the discipline.” Addressing a pre-convocation press conference at the Lagos Campus, the co-ordinator, Francis Olaniyi said the nation needs heavenly focused leaders who can deliver her from present predicament as no nation rises beyond her leadership.
He said the Nigerian Church is not making positive impact on society because many church leaders are not appropriately and sufficiently trained.
Noting that 361 students who have completed their studies of between two and four years at different levels of Certificate in Theology will graduate from the seminary during the 19th convocation ceremony.
The cleric lamented that politics in this part of the world is always tailored selfish ends instead of people-oriented, saying: “Nigeria is among the blessed countries in the world but the problem is that we lack God-fearing leadership to harness what God has given to us.
“People go into politics for selfish interest because they lack the fear of God and contentment.”
