Akarigbo stool: Family wants equity for aspirants

The ruling house of Rolade Adetinuoye Akarigbo of Remo land, Ogun State has called for equity for all aspirants in the process for picking the next Akarigbo of Remoland following the demise of the late Oba Adeniyi Sonariwo.

The family in a statement by its Akowe Ebi, Muibi Alayo, noted that while they welcome the recent call by Sagamu youths, they however frowned at the exclusion of some aspirants to the vacant stool.

The statement said: “The eagerness, fear and demand alleged by youths in Sagamu if it is indeed genuine is most welcome though it is evident that there was no protest at all in the town since the demise of Akarigbo, late Oba Adeniyi Sonariwo.

“The contest for the stool, we believe, is first and foremost a family affair which transforms to notify the government when we are ready. It is pertinent to say that those mentioned in the race remain as aspirants while we detest the exclusion of other aspirants’ names who are also members of Akarigbo Torungbuwa dynasty.

“We categorically state that Rolade Adetinuoye belongs to Famolu section of the ruling house and also an aspirant for the stool of Akarigbo of Remo. The aspirants include Princes Ayoola Sadiku, Ibukun  Alayo, Adeniyi Adesanya, Ibrahim Akinsanya and others.”
