The Chairman of the newly formed mega party, Action Democratic Party, ADP, Barrister Bolaji Adewale has said that the ADP is the only political platform capable of truly providing for the needs of the people of Lagos state and Nigeria as a whole and as well capable of cleansing the country of impunity and godfatherism. He said unity of Nigeria is also the party’s top priority.

Barrister Adewale also said that both the ruling All Progressives Congress party, APC, and the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, are no match to ADP, maintaining that PDP has even failed to win election and has equally not been able to form a strong opposition to APC’s bad governance  in the state for the past 16 years.

He gave the statement during a meeting of the leaders and State Executive members of ADP held in Lagos “to plan and chat a way forward for the party ahead of 2019 election.”

According to him, ADP is a youth oriented party and is determined to change the way politics is being played in the state and country in general because it would provide a level playing ground will for all aspirants and will not give room for imposition and godfatherism, as the party’s constitution is supreme.

He said as part of the Party’s resolve that it really means business, distribution of party membership cards to members across local governments in Lagos will commence in few days time.

While expressing happiness over the rapid and continuous growth of the party, especially in number, the Chairman said the people of the state are very happy to embrace the party, saying he was surprised to notice that the numbers kept increasing on a daily basis.

He said Lagosians, politicians and non-politicians have been calling him to express interest in joining the party.

Barrister Adewale also said further that ADP will make huge difference in Lagos when it ascends to power in 2019, and that one of the cardinal objectives of the party is to operate an open government where yearly budget will be published for the public to see and to show transparency and accountability to the people.

Barrister Bolaji lamented that Nigerians and especially Lagosians are extremely tired of the impunity by APC government and have equally, and sadly enough, not have any alternative in PDP and other parties in the state.

He however said that since ADP has come, people are very glad to join the train because the news party has something concrete to offer to them.

He also said that the party has set up structures in most of the local government areas in the state while as well working hard to set up more in the remaining local government and council areas. He said bill boards and other campaign materials of the party would soon flood the areas.

The party Chairman charged members of his party to be optimistic because ADP is increasingly gaining momentum in Nigeria.

He however called on all Lagosians to embrace and join the party and ride to greater development.
