Japan, partners provide health facilities to 64,000 in Bwari

The people of Shere Koro of the Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory in Abuja, last week   heaved a sigh of relief as a fully equiped solar powered health facility was handed over to them by the Japanese Government in collaboration with Citizen’s Health Education and Development Initiative (CHEDI).

The newly constructed Prinary Healthcare is fully equipped with medical apparatus, it has, a pharmacy, laboratory,doctors consulting room, nurse station, general out patients ward, male and female wards for in patients, borehole and its solar powered amongst others.

Prior to the event, the community had witnessed loss of lives as the only health facility in Shere was dilapidated and lacked equipment and inhabitant had to travel in a very bad road of  17 Km to Bwari health centres.

Speaking, the Japanese Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr Sadanobu Kusaoke said the project is designed to provide appropriate and reliable healthcare service to the community” he added.  “Promoting Resilient Health System for quality of lfe is one of the priority areas for our work in Africa and we strongly hope that this project will contribute to the realization of such goal”    Kusaoke noted.  The Executive Director of CHEDI, Mrs Selina Akunna Enyioha while thanking the Japanese Government for the refurbishment, said the Centre was in very bad condition when she resumed there, but had now been transformed.
