A-Ibom PDP faction hopeful of Sheriff’s victory at S-Court

UYO—Factional Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Akwa Ibom State, Elder Idorenyin Jacot, has expressed hope in the confirmation of Senator Ali Modu Sheriff as the rightful leader of the party by the Supreme Court in the on going legal battle between Senator Ahmed Makafi and Sen Sheriff.

Elder Jacot, state Chairman, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff faction of PDP, who spoke to journalists in Uyo after an enlarged meeting of the group, said Sheriff’s victory at the Supreme Court is sure, because he is the rightful Chairman of the party with the backing of the party’s constitution.

The group in a communique at the end of its state executive council meeting commended Sheriff for his doggedness in fighting impunity perpetuate by a group of cabal within the party, which the noted led to the failure of the party at the last general election.

He said, “We are mobilizing our supporters to Abuja to give solidarity to our leader and chairman, Senator Sheriff, as we await the Supreme Court’s judgment tomorrow.”

The party leadership expressed confidence in Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC which they said was brought the fore with speedy indisputable election of Ademola Adeleke of Osun West senatorial district.

“They out come of the Osun West election victory as a clear indication of Senator  Sheriff doggedness and his ability to return the party to the people and redeemed it from few cabal who had held the party down for over 16 years.”

The group commended Governor Udom Emmanuel for approving the conduct of local government election in the state and urged all members of the party to go back to work hard towards the election.

“PDP will always win any election in Akwa Ibom State because people of the state play and support the party as their religion,” the group said
