The death has been announced of Dr. Arthur Nylander, SAN on Thursday, July 13, 2017. He was aged 89 years. His son Leslie Nylander, also a lawyer made the announcement from the Arthur Nylander Chambers in Lagos.

Arthur Nylander was one of the early sets of Senior Advocates of Nigeria in 1981 and his area of specialisation was in Commercial Law, Intellectual Property Law and Trademarks.

He was a former National President of the Nigerian-American Chamber of Commerce from 1984 to 1986 and was a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Management. He also served for many years on the Diocesan Board of the Anglican Diocese of Lagos.

In 1969 while running his Legal practice, he was also a Senior Lecturer and Sub-Dean of the Faculty of Law at the University of Lagos and taught many of the successful lawyers, judges and Senior Advocates of Nigeria.
