Anambra PDP gov aspirant harps on brotherly love

Onitsha—As residents of Anambra State move closer to the November 18 date for governorship election, an aspirant on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Dr Alex Obiogbolu, has stressed the need for brotherly love among the party faithful.

Obiogbolu, who played host to a group of politicians under the aegis of Committed PDP Members, CPM, at his Onitsha residence, said love among the people was the only thing needed to reduce evil to the barest minimum in the society.

The PDP governorship aspirant, who commended the group for holding forth in the trying days of protracted intra party crisis, which was followed by fireworks of legal battle, however, urged them to embrace those that would be returning to the party.

He said PDP had always been a party where diverse interests are considered and accommodated before seeds of discord was planted by those who wanted to destroy it for personal aggrandizements.

Obiogbolu recalled that many people left the PDP during the period of confusion caused by the protracted crisis, saying it is only logical that many of them are already indicating interest to return to the party’s fold.

In his remark, the leader of the group, Chief Basil Owu, said they were in Onitsha to celebrate with the Oganiru Anambra proponent and pledge their loyalty and continued support for Obiogbolu’s governorship aspiration, who he described as a gentleman politician that had always remained loyal and committed to PDP and was a bridge builder in the party.
