By Festus Ahon

ASABA—MEMBER of Delta State Revenue Board, Chief Solomon Ighrakpata, has said that Governor  Ifeanyi Okowa was addressing the issue of youths restiveness through skills acquisition programme.

In a chat with Vanguard, yesterday, Ighrakpata said that many youths have been trained in their respective areas of interest under the state skill acquisition programme.

Noting that those trained in agriculture were doing well, he said a good number of them have employed people to work in their farms thereby reducing unemployment in the state.

According to him, those trained in other areas are also excelling, adding that the state government gave all of them starter packs upon completion of their training.

In the area of infrastructural development, Ighrakpata said that the three senatorial districts of the state were being carried along in the development effort of the Okowa administration.

Noting that the state government was embarking on enduring projects despite the economic recession, he said that government presence was being felt in all the 25 local government areas of the state.

He noted that Okowa was commissioning projects and holding town hall meetings with the people since May in parts of the state.

Explaining that the town hall meeting, which is still ongoing was affording all stakeholders the opportunity to contribute to the governance of the state, he said that their suggestions were being taken seriously by government.
