Lagos – A 68- year -old man, Patrick Onyesom, who allegedly defiled his house-keeper was on Wednesday arraigned in an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court.

The accused, a business man, who resides at Oluade Street, Oke-Afa, Agege, a suburb of Lagos State, is facing a count charge of defilement.

The prosecutor, Insp. Clifford Ogu, told the court that the offence was committed on April 12 at the accused residence.

Ogu said that the accused defiled the 12- year -old house-keeper when his wife travelled.

“The girl later told one of the neighbours who alerted the police and the accused was apprehended,’’ he said.
The offence contravened Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Taiwo Akanni, granted the accused N250, 000 bail with two sureties in like sum.
Akanni adjourned the case until July 5 for mention.
