Six years after he underwent a kidney transplant in India, Prince Ifeanyi Dike, is still looking strong and healthy as if nothing happened to him.
The handsome actor and Chairman, Board of Trustees, BoT, of the Actors’ Guild of Nigeria,AGN, was down with kidney disease in 2011, but God in his infinite mercies saw him through, when he underwent a successful kidney transplant in India.
Since then, Ifeanyi has never had any reason to return to the hospital bed. In fact, unlike the popular music producer, OJB Jezreel who unfortunately died three years after he underwent his own kidney transplant in India, Ifeanyi Dike has been full of life and energy.
Though the Imo State-born thespian admits that his lifestyle has since changed, he’s forever grateful to his maker for giving him another chance to be alive.
Sharing his experience with HVP, Ifeanyi said, “God is awesome”adding “You know my lifestyle has totally changed.”
According to Ifeanyi, himself together with some kidney transplant survivors recently established a kidney foundation “to help ourselves as well as assist those who are already on their sick beds.”
Ifeanyi advised people to endeavour to go for medical examinations, saying that “kidney failure is not a death sentence and no one should be ashamed of the condition, it’s just like any other ailment.”
“I noticed that people don’t go for medical check ups. We only wait until it gets worse before we go to the hospital. Ifeanyi, however, called on the government to assist them in creating awareness on how people can avoid suffering from kidney-related ailments. He disclosed that he’s having a kidney camp in August, and urged everyone to register in order to have their kidneys checked free of charge by doctors from Nigeria and India.
