ASABA—THE Young Democratic Party, YDP, has appointed a legal practitioner, Mr. Festus Ofume, as the acting Chairman of the party in Delta State.
National chairman of the party, Ambassador Rapheael Horsfall, in a statement, said Ofume’s appointment “takes immediate effect.”
Political analysts said his appointment was to enable him position the party to play the role of a credible opposition in the state.
Ofume in his acceptance speech, expressed appreciation to the national leadership of the party for the confidence reposed in him.
He said, “No stone will be left unturned in the discharge of my duty as chairman of our great party, the Young Democratic Party, Delta State and I assure you that my tenure will bring positive development geared towards the betterment of our people.”
