The new ideal party for the Nigerian youths, Young Democratic Party (YDP) has called on Nigerian youths not to relent in their efforts to pursue leadership positions, as that is the only way to change the political anomalies that characterise Nigerian political system.

Speaking to news men in Lagos, Acting Secretary, YDP, Lagos chapter, Adejoh Emmanuel said that it is time to liberate Nigerian youths from political relegation imposed on them by political captors and reposition them for future leadership that would lead the country to the promised land.

According to Emmanuel, the youths have not had a fair treatment in Nigerian politics due to the visionless and personal aggrandizement of corrupt leaders who are concerned about their selfish interest and cronies.

“It is on this basis and other anomalies that Young Democratic Party (YDP) was formed years back to give young Nigerians, market women platform to seek their constitutional right to contribute in the leadership of this country”.

Emmanuel further said that “YDP is a new idea of hope, lights to build a new Nigeria of our dreams and to build a strong institution and not strong individual. YDP intends to brings hope and a new direction to our teeming Nigerian populace the youth in particular with fresh political orientation to democratically empower the people politically and economically”.

Continuing, he said, “politics that does not avail opportunities to the grass roots level can never grow our economy and create jobs for army of unemployed Nigerian youths. We want to concentrate more at the grass roots, exploit and harness our enormous human resources for scientific and technological development through strategic capacity building for the youth to acquire entrepreneurial skills for economic development and to provide soft an enabling environment for the market women and other business owners to grow in order to eradicate poverty in the land.

“We need diversification to move the economy forward which our leaders refused to do before now and the resultant effect is the recession the country is experiencing today.

YDP is focusing on a true and viable social democratic system; an all inclusive styles of governance void of tribal, gender, religious, prejudice, stereotypes and sectional consideration in order to timely and decisively deal with all our socio-economic comatose and political quagmire brought upon us by our visionless past leaders. The state of the Nigerian economy today is enough evidence that we need young Nigerians in leadership.

Emmanuel said, “YDP is spurred to correct the anomalies of revenue sharing formula that is disproportionate in favour of the federal government at the expense of states and local governments. given the grass roots power must also include economic empowerment by economic diversification towards broadening the nation revenue base ,increasing national productivity, enhancing global competitiveness and ensuring improved well being and human security.
