Thugs numbering over one 100 and armed with dangerous weapons, have taken over Aiyetoro Village, a suburb close to the Redeemed Camp on Lagos/Ibadan expressway in Ogun State.
Residents of the village accused the thugs of forcefully dispossessing them of money, jewelleries, phones, destroying their farmlands and killing their livestock.
They accused a Lagos based land vendor one Baba, of bringing in the thugs on instruction of an influential women, whom they accused of masterminding the forceful take over of their land in total disregard to the recently promulgated Anti-land Grabbing law of Ogun State Government.
Members of Owosina family, who lay claim to the land has at various times taken the matter before different police formations and at a stage appeared before the Ogun State House of Assembly Committee on Land and Housing on December 8, 2016 where they presented their case.
Otunba Zaccheaus Owosina, who noted that the village belong to the Owosina family said “After the meeting with the House Committee, we learnt that the land grabbers were also summoned. We do not know whether they honoured the invitation. Ever since, descendants of Owosina family have not been allowed to enter our forefather’s village.”
He said that their patience was running out and called on Inspector General of Police, the Ogun State Government and the Department of State Seervices, DSS, to call the said Baba to order, adding that he should be held responsible for any break- down of law and order in Aiyetoro village.
