DUTSE—All Progressives Congress, APC, supporters from various local government areas of Jigawa State have alleged imposition of candidates ahead of the local government election on July 1.
Speaking to journalists on behalf of the protesting members, Alhaji Abdussalam Kiyawa, accused some APC caucuses in Kiyawa Local Government of not obeying the governor and state party leadership directives to choose the most eligible candidates, who will lead the party to victory in the election.
The protesters were barred from entering Government House by security personnel, who insisted that they should go to the party office.
Kiyawa said: “We are here to submit our protest letter to Governor Muhammad Badaru against imposition of a candidate, as APC is a party of the masses, where real democracy is at work.”
