Governor Masari made the request while receiving the Supervising Deputy Inspector General, DIG of Police in charge of North West zone, DIG Maigari Abbati Dikko who paid him a courtesy visit at the Government House, Katsina.
The Police initially proposed Malumfashi and Dustinma as location for the establishment of the two additional area commands and to be headed by Assistant Commissioner of Police.
But the Governor suggested that the proposed locations may have to be reconsidered given the need and neglect of top other part of the state.
He wondered why the Daura zone with about 12 Local government was not considered noting it would have been much appreciated if a command is created in Kankia or Ingawa given the large area of the zone.
According to him, “I may not know the rationale behind the proposed locations but it unless a reorganisation of the state command is been looked at generally,” Governor Masari said while assuring of the state readiness to assist in taking up of the commands.
Earlier, the DIG Dikko solicit the support of the state towards making available facilities for their smooth take off in the state.
The DIG also paid homage on the Emir of Katsina, Abdulmumin Kabir Usman at his palace and had meeting with relevant stakeholders in the state towards addressing issues of security bedeviling the state and finding possible solutions and preventable measures to tackle it.
