Enyimba attacking midfielder, Ikechukwu Ibenegbu has said his side expect one of the toughest oriental derby clashes against the Nigerian champions, Enugu Rangers.

The People’s Elephants are hosts of the Flying Antelopes in today’s Nigeria Professional Football League match at adopted ground the UJ Esuene Stadium in Calabar.

Ibenegbu said his side are very much at home at their adopted ground in Calabar to contest favourably for the whole three points at stake in the clash.

“No match is easy in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), we have always been involved in one tough match or another so the oriental derby against champions, Enugu Rangers is one of those tough matches.

“We respect Enugu Rangers as champions but I have the conviction that we will claim the whole three points at stake.

“Of late Rangers have not been getting good results in their matches and will come out here determined to prove a point aimed at contesting for the points.

“The side already have a mandate to win or burst so the desperation to stay alive is well pronounced.

“However, we careless of the side’s present plight as we are 100% ready to claim the three points.”

“We have adopted Calabar as our home, we have even forgotten about our traditional home ground in Aba so we will go into the match with same positive and mind set as if we are playing on our Aba turf.

“We will surely get the job perfectly done, earn the points to push up our position on the league log,” said the former Heartland and Warri Wolves goal poacher said

Enyimba are eighth on the 20-team top-flight on 22 points eight behind leaders, Mountain of Fire Miracles Ministries (MFM) FC.
