Warri Boys Association, Lagos chapter, has commended the Federal Government for directing all International Oil Companies operating in the Niger Delta region to relocate their headquarters to their states of operations within the region.

The association, in a communiqué after its monthly meeting in Lagos, applauded President Muhammadu Buhari for the directive as one of the major steps of dousing tension in the Niger Delta region.

According to the President of the Association, Mr. Pius Enakerakpo, “This singular action shows that the government is doing everything possible to ensure that peace returns to the region.

“This government has demonstrated that it is sensitive to the plight of the Niger Delta people, and as such, the government seems to be taking every positive step to ensure that peace returns to the Niger Delta region as quickly as possible.”

He said based on this Federal Government directive to the oil companies, the Association therefore wish to commend President Muhammadu Buhari for being a listening leader and truly a man of integrity.
