US govt, security agencies strategise to fight human trafficking

THE United States Consulate in Lagos in collaboration with the Activating the Lost Dream Foundation, ALDF and major security agencies in the country have unveiled a new strategy to fight activities of women and child traffickers through the borderlines across Nigeria.

This was the highlight of a workshop organized at Idiroko Border, Ogun State recently.

The workshop, sponsored by the US Consulate was an initiative of ALDF and the Sensitize Educate and Empower (SEE) Project, put together in commemoration of the 2017 World Women Day.

The event was attended by officers of the Nigeria Customs Service, Nigeria Immigration, Nigeria Police Force, Nigeria Prison Service and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence, Olori Oniko of Ikoland and inhabitants of the borderline communities.

The participants at the symposium spoke on the theme- ‘’Together against Human Trafficking”.
