Most covetous awards
Speaking on her paper entitled, “The power of a clear vision” Mrs. Titi Abubakar, noted that, “Awards are given to deserving persons and I strongly believe that the governors’ wives who are to be honoured today have been carefully identified because of the work they are doing to support their husbands and most importantly, their impact on the lives of the vulnerable persons in their respective states. Permit me therefore to congratulate our award recipients.
”My keynote address will be centered on my humanitarian work for trafficked, abused and neglected children and women. But before I launch into my story, let me point out that nothing can be achieved without the following: a clear vision, burning desire, an unquenchable passion and corresponding actions.
I wish to state it categorically, that no matter how enormous the resources are or how big the platform is, it must first start with a clear vision.Without a clear vision, all what we will have will be jamboree.
”What has sustained WOTCLEF today as the leading NGO in the fight against human trafficking in Nigeria 10 years after my husband left office as the Vice President of Nigeria are the factors I listed above with the greatest being a Clear Vision. My story began 18 years ago and I do hope to inspire one or two persons with it today.
“In 1999, when my husband became the Vice President of Nigeria, it was a young democracy in the wake of a new millennium that was fast approaching. He was the second man in the largest black nation of the world and I was his home keeper.”
