Power Oil from the staple of Raffles Oil LFTZ Enterprise has entered into another partnership with the Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, WAPA, Lagos and Ogun States in an effort to further extend the coverage and deepen the penetration of the Power Oil Health Camp activities in Nigeria.
The event which was attended by women of high substance and calibre in the government brought them together to dialogue and discuss salient issues that women folks are being subjected to in the society, especially on the issue of domestic violence.
Flagging off the partnership during the 2017 International Women’s Day celebration, Hon. Lola Akande, Honorable Commissioner, Lagos State Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, said that women deserve the best treatment and high level of respect in the society. “Also because of their multifunctional nature, they equally deserve being in a healthy state in order to carry out their duties efficiently, which is one of the reasons it is recommended they take advantage of the regular health check up and medical consultation opportunity which Power Oil Health Camp is offering,” she said.
Commenting on the partnership, Amisha Chawla, Brand Manager, Power Oil, stated that the role of a woman both in the home and the society at large cannot be over-emphasised, saying that it is only a healthy woman that can raise a happy family, that is why the partnership with the Ministry of WAPA is very strategic for the project, as the plan is to reach out to as many women as possible across the nation.
She mentioned that also as part of the plan to commemorate the International Women’s Day with the ministry, the Power Oil Health Camp team and the Lagos State Ministry officials will be storming the Makoko Community and Ikorodu to further encourage and sensitize the women to embark on regular medical health check for early detection and ultimately to guide against avoidable death from hypertension and other heart related complications.
“Also note that we have entered the same partnership with the Ministry of Women Affairs in Ogun State as well in addition to that with the Ministry of Health” Chawla stated.
It would be recalled that Power Oil Health Camp recently also announced it’s collaboration with the Ogun State Ministry of Health, and the camp exercise is a daily and ongoing activity which has recently expanded its operations to 13 locations in Nigeria. The health team recently visited Moniya Community in Ibadan; Mariri Community, Kumbotso, Kano State; Tunge-Maje Community, Gwagwalada, Abuja; Iyana Ipaja NYSC Orientation Camp Lagos; Autonomous Community, Imo State and Obosi Community, Anambra State. The brand also has other various heart health supporting initiatives which inspire consumers to take good care of their health such as the annual Power Oil Walk-Heart -on & Pay with Calories which held its third annual edition recently in three locations.
