An Arsenal Scout didn’t sign N’Golo Kanté when he played for French team Caen despite visiting him several times.
French football writer Julien Laurens told Mark Chapman that the decision came because the central midfielder didn’t have ‘enough’ for the Arsenal team.
Speaking in a 5 live sport special ‘Creating Kanté’ which focused on the upbringing, career and talents of the French player, he said that Arsenal subsequently tried to sign him when he was at Leicester. Kanté chose Chelsea instead where he currently plays.
Kante has been a revelation from his time at Leicester where he helped the Foxes claim the title last season and has continued to improve since joining Chelsea.
The 26 years old midfielder has played every minute of Chelsea’s campaign this season as they sit pretty at the top of the table 10-points clear.
