ABUJA – Miss Ambassador for Peace Nigeria (2016/17), Queen Oluchi Madubuko, Said those politicians using religion and ethnicity to manipulate the people during electioneering period are the enemies of the country.
This, she said, justified the reason for authoring her book; ‘The Robot’to foster peaceful coexistence between the Christian and Muslim faithful through her Peace Educational Campaign.
Madubuko, who stated this at the official presentation of the Book, in Abuja, explained that some crises in the country escalated because some people acted like robot after being manipulated by some selfish leaders, using the instruments of religion and ethnicity to achieve their personal agenda.
She said; “Our dear nation has witnessed unprecedented religious crisis which over the years divided us on religious lines and set us back as a people economically and socially.
“There is therefore the need for cooperation and tolerance through dialogue and alliance among us the believers of different religions. We must promote unity in diversity between and advocate common values, fight for the same cause, and seek permanent solutions to common problems.”
The Project Director, Miss Ambassador for Peace Nigeria, Amb. Kingsley Amafibe said for peace to reign, peoples’ attitude, beliefs and actions must demonstrate concern for human rights, saying that “preaching the gospel of peace is all we are known for.”
Also speaking, the President of the Arewa Consultative Forum Youth Congress, ACFYC, Mr Isaac Balami attributed crisis in the country to injustice, called on government at all levels to live up to their responsibilities.
Balami urged leaders to put aside parochial interest and work for the progress of the country, adding that youths are beginning to lose confidence in them.
