Alleged murder by lawyer: State counsel weeps in court

Ibadan—THE Principal State Counsel in the Oyo State Ministry of Justice, Mrs Adewumi Stella Oyeniran broke down in tears as she testified in the on-going trial instituted against a woman lawyer, Mrs Yewande Oyediran.

The defendant was accused of allegedly killing her husband, Mr. Lowo Oyediran on February 2, 2016 in their residence at Ayegoro area of Iyana Church, Ibadan.

The witness who described herself as a bosom friend of the defendant for the past 15 years gave a vivid picture of what transpired after the death of Lowo Oyediran. She started sobbing when she got to a point she discovered that Lowo Oyediran had died.

After she calmed down, she told the court how she got a call from one Sandra Tella who told her that the accused’s father was at Bambi Hospital, Ibadan.

“When I got there, I was told that Yewande and her husband had a quarrel and that she was lying unconscious in the hospital. After, we went to Akobo Police Station with Yewande’s dad and they met the landlord writing a statement,” Oyeniran said.
