Ogbe-Ijoh wants LG boss, staff to resume duties

The people of Ogbe-Ijoh, headquarters of Warri South-West Local Government Area, Delta State, yesterday, expressed concern over the attitude of workers at the council secretariat with regard to the land dispute between them and neighbouring Aladja community.

Coordinator, Concerned Members for Peace in Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom, Friday Denighan, in a statement, yesterday, appealed to the state government to prevail on the Warri South-West council chairman and his staff to return to their duty posts as soon as possible.

Expressing disappointment with the council chairman, Denighan said: “As an Ijaw man that he is, we are not pleased with his activities and those of the council staff.

“The council is getting its monthly allocation and staff of the council are receiving their monthly salaries as at when due in the state, yet they have not been at their duty posts in the past 12 months under the guise of the land dispute in the area.”
