CALABAR—Sunday Ushie, a man arrested by officers of Cross River State Police Command, has revealed that he killed his ‘woman friend’ before having sex with her because she turned down his amorous demands after collecting huge amount of money from him.
It was learned that Ushie was arrested after the landlord of the deceased reported to the police that his tenant, Nnenna Samuel, was killed by the suspect, with her right hand, left leg and mouth severed.
When the suspect was paraded by the police in Calabar, 35-year-old Ushie told Vanguard that he was forced into committing the act because the deceased usually collect money from him and would never allow him to make love to her.
The suspect, who spoke in pidgin English, said: “She is always coming to my place and I spend a lot of money on her. I have known her for about two months.
“However, any time I want to be intimate with her, she rebuffs me yet continues to collect money from me.
“So out of anger, I killed her and took that thing she has been denying me of because she has taken a lot of money from me.”
Speaking with newsmen, the state Commissioner of Police, Hafiz Inuwa, disclosed that the suspect was arrested following a report at Ikom Divisional Police headquarters from one Cletus Etta, who said his tenant, Nnenna Samuel, had been murdered with her right hand, left leg and mouth severed.
According to Inuwa, the children of the deceased also confirmed to the police that their mother was invited by the suspect and that she never returned.
The Commissioner added that the suspect, when arrested, confessed to have killed the woman before raping her, adding that investigations are ongoing after which he will be appropriately charged.
