Kano – The Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi, has called for more attention to the game of football as part of efforts to create jobs for youths.
“ Football is a major catalyst for employment opportunities; the opportunties there are limitless,” Sanusi said in Kano on Wednesday.
The royal father made the remark when he received the management of RAMCY FC, Kano, led by its Chairman, Alhaji Muhammad Ujudud, who paid him a courtesy visit.
According to him, the game offers youths an opportunity to explore their talents and potentialities.
The Emir assured the outfit’s management that the Kano Emirate Council would support its youths to excel in every chosen field.
He congratulated the club for gaining promotion to Division One of the Nigeria National league (NNL), and described the feat as “monumental and very praise worthy”.
He promised that the emirate would look into ways to support the club to soar to greater heights.
He stressed the need for individuals, corporate organisations and philanthropists to support professional football clubs, saying that the benefits were usually enormous.
Sanusi enjoined District Heads with interest in soccer to extend their hands of support to enterprising clubs so as to encourage them.
Earlier in his remarks, Ujudud had told the monarch that they were at his palace to enlist the support of the emirate council toward a smooth running of the outfit.
He said that mobility was one of the club’s major challenges and urged for support in that area.
