Ogbe-Ijoh faults ex-Aladja chairman on disputed land

By Tare Youdeowei

THE Concerned Members for Peace in Ogbe-Ijoh, Warri Kingdom, has described comments by a former chairman of Aladja community, Mr. Kabedje Etabuko, urging Delta State Government not to use the clearing of the bush between Ogbe-Ijoh and Aladja communities as a veiled excuse to create an artificial boundary between both communities, as myopic and a figment of his imagination.

Addressing newsmen, coordinator of the group, Friday Deinghan, said: “It is obvious that the purported ex-chairman does not have a good report on the issues trailing the disputed land despite his claims as a former chairman.

“Etabuko should know that the land in question, according to documented evidence, belongs to the Ogbe-Ijoh people of Warri South-West since 1955.

“Despite this documented evidence, we welcome the idea by the state government and the security agents in the area in the discharge of their duties for the maintenance of peace.”
