PORT HARCOURT—A London-based Riversman, Mr. Charles Jaja, has approached a Port Harcourt High Court, to among other things, declare that he is the first son of late Dr Joseph Siminialayi Jaja.
He also prayed the court to declare that he be included as one of the administrators of the deceased’s estate.
According to him, the court should also declare that he should as of right, share in the estate of late Dr Jaja in Port Harcourt and in Opobo town, Opobo community in Rivers State as first son.
He further enjoined the court to restrain the first defendant who is the wife of the deceased, Mrs Baerbel Jaja, a German and her agents from withdrawing any money in the bank accounts of late Dr Jaja.
Wife of the decease, Mrs Jaja had in her statement filed by her counsel, Chief O.C.J. Okocha, SAN, among other things said that she formerly got married to the decease on March 19, 1976 in Marburg, Germany, adding that the claimant, Mr Charles Jaja had no basis to claim that he was the first son of late Dr Siminialayi, “ as it was only in about 1987 that the late Dr Jaja and I came to know about the existence of the claimant by which time the first child of their union, Daniel had been born.”
