Little known Nigerian, Shahin Nouri has taken the country to global reckoning in motor racing after winning the 2016 Lamborghini Blackpain Super Trofeo European title. He also emerged the 2016 vice champion of the world.
Still basking in the euphoria of his success on the tracks, Nouri, who is a naturalised Nigerian told a crowded press conference in Lagos at the weekend that his pride was having the Nigerian national anthem played while he was on the podium to receive his championship trophy.
“I developed goose pimples when the Nigeria national Anthem was being played. It was indeed a proud moment for me as a Nigeria,”he said, adding I want to prove to the world that Nigeria is a great country with great potentials.”
Before the final race, Shahin needed 5 points to beat the leading driver in his class. He did not only achieve the 5 points but finished first, making him European champion and vice champion of the world.
