Man,30, remanded for alleged burglary in Osun

A suspect, Olajide Olatunde,30, was on Thursday remanded in Ilesa prison custody by an Osogbo Chief Magistrates’ Court for alleged burglary.

Olatunde is facing a three- count charge of conspiracy, burglary and theft.

The Magistrate, Mrs Sodamade Fatimoh, ordered that the accused be kept behind bars due to the magnitude of the crime committed.

The prosecutor, Insp.Fagboyinbo Abiodun, told the court that the accused person committed the offence on Sept.27 at about 1.a.m. at Ofatedo Area, Osogbo.

Abiodun said the accused conspired with others now at large to break into the house of one Faleke Kayode and carted away some household items.

The items include HP elite book core 15 , Blackberry phone , Samsung S2 , Dell inspirion, Blackberry touch 1, Blackberry touch 2, and a blackberry cure all valued N 141,000.

The prosecutor said that it took the tireless effort of the detective police officers to apprehend the culprit.

He said the offence committed by the suspect contravened sections 516(1), 411, and 390(9) of the criminal code cap 34 vol. 11 laws of Osun, 2003.

The accused pleaded not guilty to the charges preferred against him.

Counsel to the accused , Mrs Bose Adeyinka , prayed the court to grant her client bail in the most liberal terms.

The magistrate, however, ordered for a consideration of bail on the next date of adjournment.

The case was adjourned to Jan.9,2017 for mentioned.
